July 19th Concert for John Mayall
Mick Taylor was Re-United on Saturday July 19th with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers for a Charity Benefit Concert entitled Unite for Unicef. Along with Mick Taylor, other Special Guests included Eric Clapton & Chris Barber. It was also a 70th Birthday Party for the Grandfather off British Blues John Mayall who's newest incarnation of the Bluesbreakers are Fantastic !
Mick was announced to the crowd with a huge roar and proceeded to play on "Somebody's Acting like a child" and "Blues for the Lost Days". A 3 piece horn section then comes out to play on "Walking on Sunset" & then the highlight so far "Oh Pretty Women" that featured a seering Guitar Duo between Mick & Buddy Whittington to end the Song.
Mick Taylor and the Horn section then left the stage as Eric Clapton was then Invited up. Mick returned later in the evening to play "California" with it seemed everyone taking a solo, the whole band then left the stage only to return with an encore of "Talk to Your Daughter" and it was the first time in a long while seeing & hearing Eric Clapton & Mick Taylor sharing the same Stage Together ! What an Incredible Evening.
